Overview 

PalTech partnered with a fast-growing financial SaaS company that helps businesses automate their daily accounting operations. Their platform connects to popular sales and payment channels like Shopify, Square, Amazon Seller, Stripe, and PayPal, and automatically posts daily summaries and reconciles deposits into accounting tools like QuickBooks Online and Xero.  As their customer base grew, the client needed to streamline user onboarding, improve user experience, and scale their automation engine to support more channels. PalTech worked closely with their product and engineering teams to build a modern, secure, and scalable accounting automation system that simplifies complex accounting tasks for end-users. 

Problem Statement

Managing financial data from multiple platforms manually was time-consuming and error-prone for the client’s end-users. They needed a seamless, automated solution that could: 

  • Handle diverse configurations from different sales channels. 
  • Onboard users easily with modern login options. 
  • Automatically post daily financial summaries and reconcile payments.

Our Strategy / Solution 

PalTech redesigned and extended the client’s platform with a strong focus on automation, usability, and scalability: 

  • Integrated Multiple Single Sign-On (SSO) Options like Google, Office 365, Intuit, and Xero, making signup and login fast and secure for customers. 
  • Created flexible templates to support different sales channels and customer configurations, enabling automated posting of daily financial summaries to QuickBooks Online or Xero. 
  • Built intelligent reconciliation logic to match and verify payment deposits from platforms like Stripe, Shopify, and PayPal. 
  • Refactored the entire user interface from a traditional Rails-based setup to a sleek, responsive Tailwind CSS-based UI, improving usability across devices. 
  • Designed and implemented a billing system to handle subscriptions, generate invoices, and bill customers automatically. 
  • Integrated the platform with HubSpot, allowing the client to manage marketing, sales, and customer support in a connected, efficient way. 
  • Maintained high test coverage by designing and documenting detailed test cases for each feature and connector. 
  • Established coding standards and reusable design patterns, helping the development team build connectors faster and more reliably.
